COFRA Code of Conduct

COFRA is strengthened by its history, background and traditions and draws inspiration from the past to help find solutions to the challenges of today and tomorrow. The principles to which COFRA adheres are simple, timeless and applied universally, they include the following:

1. Conflicts of interest

COFRA acts with honesty and integrity, avoiding conflicts of interest. Such conflicts may, for example, arise when a person's private interests interfere in any way with the interests of the COFRA group. Each employee will promptly and properly disclose any such conflicts they may find themselves in.

2. Fair dealing

COFRA abides by the principles contained in the United Nations Global Compact (http://www.unglobalcompact.org) and respects the laws and regulations (both national and international) applicable in the countries in which it operates.
  • COFRA deals on the basis of quality, price and service
  • COFRA deals fairly, respecting the rights of customers, suppliers, competitors and employees
  • COFRA conducts its business in an environmentally sound manner
  • COFRA sees strength in, and values, diversity and pluralism
  • COFRA does not make political donations but may wish to make its position on certain matters known to governmental authorities. Employees wishing to stand for elections to public office are encouraged to do so where appropriate in the light of local circumstances.
  • COFRA welcomes philanthropic initiatives undertaken by employees
  • COFRA seeks to benefit those communities in which it operates
  • COFRA's books and records are kept, maintained and audited in accordance with internationally recognised professional standards
  • COFRA respects the trade secrets, confidential information and intellectual property of the COFRA Group, its business partners and others.
  • COFRA does not engage in activities which will bring its business, employees, or the owners into disrepute.

3. Corrupt practices

  • COFRA will not involve itself in corrupt practices and does not accept services or favours obtained on the basis of improper inducements.
  • COFRA protects the funds, assets (both tangible and intangible) and information of the COFRA Group and does not use them to achieve any unlawful or improper purpose.
