As part of our drive for Sustainable Impact, we need an exceptional ESG Expert to help us ensure the continuity of our Sustainable Investment capabilities. Reporting to the Head of Sustainable Impact, you will be supporting COFRA Group and for strengthening key ESG capabilities across COFRA Group. Specifically, you will:

 

  • Finalize COFRA’s Sustainable Investment Policy: though an initial template is already in place, some key content pieces will need to be developed, particularly those connected to COFRA’s investment ambitions related to its core Sustainable Impact commitments: Climate, Nature/Biodiversity, Human Rights and Labour Practices, and Inclusion, Equity & Diversity​
  • Work with our current consultants on delivering discussion papers on at least two key topics (e.g. fossil fuel, deforestation) that will lead to investment decisions to be implemented across the Group: for a given topic, what should we exclude/divest from, where should we engage with investees, and where should we look for positive impact generation. These working papers shall be approved by COFRA’s Impact Committee and Management Team and incorporated into the Sustainable Investment Policy​
  • Embed ESG considerations in businesses performance reviews: support the Chief Sustainable Impact Officer in assessing Quarterly Business Reviews to advance businesses’ ESG agenda; work with the Strategy team in embedding ESG/Impact considerations in Strategic Planning​
  • Prepare ESG-related materials for COFRA’s Impact Committee, Board and Management team​
  • Lead ESG due diligence in potential COFRA acquisitions: should any M&A opportunity arise, taking ownership of the ESG due diligence for Energy or Food acquisitions, in close coordination with COFRA’s M&A team. Depending on the tasks at hand, this can be done in house or by managing outsourced ESG consultants. ​
  • Provide Holistic team support: supporting with overall guidance to more junior team members and ad hoc requests to the Sustainable Impact team

 

What you will need

  • At least 7 years of relevant experience in and familiarity with:​
  • Responsible Investing/ESG practices, in particular policymaking for asset managers or owners and ESG reporting​
  • ESG Due diligence ​
  • Excellent English written and spoken skills​
  • Great ability to simplify complex concepts for non-expert audiences; structured thinking and strong Powerpoint skills ​

Contract terms

  • This is a temporary contract and requires a commitment of at least eight months.​
  • Ideally we would like someone to start immediately but no later than May, 2024
