C&A Brazil celebrates 50 years of leadership in fashion retail

Zug, Switzerland, 25 August 2026 – The Board of Directors and family owners of COFRA Holding AG congratulate C&A Brazil (C&A Modas S.A.) on celebrating fifty years of operations and wish the business every success in the years ahead.

Since opening its first store in 1976 in Shopping Ibirapuera, São Paulo, C&A Brazil has grown to be one of the country’s leading omnichannel fashion brands, with 341 fashion stores in 172 cities, a thriving digital presence and more than 15,000 employees. 

Over the past fifty years, C&A Brazil has continued to evolve and innovate with new products, become an employer of choice that is recognised as one of Brazil’s best places to work, partnered with local suppliers to strengthen sustainable sourcing and supported the community through C&A Institute. 

COFRA is the controlling shareholder of C&A Brazil, which listed on Brazil’s B3 stock exchange as C&A Modas S.A. in October 2019.
